Illawarra Electricians takes enquiries for emergency electrical faults, switchboard and safety-switch upgrades, EV charger installs, lighting and power points, and electrical safety inspections in Wollongong, Figtree, Corrimal, Dapto, Fairy Meadow, Thirroul, Shellharbour, Unanderra, Bulli and Kiama. The site is run by Yes Right Pty Ltd (ABN 91 664 546 061).

How it works.

• You call or use the quote form and tell us your suburb and what you need done.
• The job goes to a local electrical business that can price it.
• That business quotes you directly and is responsible for its own licence, insurance and workmanship.
• We don't charge you for the enquiry. Businesses we refer work to may pay us a referral fee.

• Electrical licence. All electrical work in NSW must be done by the holder of a NSW Fair Trading electrical licence, however small the job. Ask for the licence number and check it on the NSW Fair Trading public register before work starts.
• Level 2 ASP. Work on the service mains, metering or the point of supply also needs a Level 2 Accredited Service Provider.
• Insurance. Ask for a certificate of currency for public liability insurance, and check the name on it matches the business that quoted.
• Written quote. It should state the licence details, the exact work, materials, exclusions, GST, deposit and timing.
• Certificate. The work must meet the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules and be tested and certified with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) lodged with NSW Fair Trading. Keep it for your insurer and for when you sell.
